The state of Michigan refers to its classes as "Alcohol Highway Safety Classes" which are the equivalent to what other states refer to as DUI classes. Individuals charges with a substance use related traffic offense may be required by the court to obtain an alcohol screening or substance abuse evaluation, or possibly to participate in an education or alcohol awareness course.
